Prague hosted the Run for Free Media, organized by the non-profit Post Bellum. Participants ran 4.36 kilometers in support of Czech Television and Czech Radio, and instead of bib numbers, their shirts carried written messages.
The route crossed Mánes Bridge and Marian Square and finished outside the Czech Radio building. The name and format of the event underline its main idea: public media in Czechia need the support of the public.
Instead of the usual numbers, the runners wore short slogans on their shirts. The race thus became not only a sporting event but also a civic statement in defense of independent journalism.
