On the day of the US midterm elections, 4 November 2026, a light projection carrying a protest message against Donald Trump appeared on the façade of the Trump International Hotel & Tower in Las Vegas. The stunt was the work of artist Joanie Lemercier, who described it on the social network X.

A room across the street and a projector 200 metres away

According to the artist, a few weeks earlier he managed to book a room in the building opposite the tower. From there, using a powerful projector, he beamed his message from a distance of 200 metres. The text of the slogan itself is not given in the original post, but the action was conceived as a political statement.

The timing was no accident. Lemercier published the projection on the day of the congressional elections, which, in his words, will have a profound impact on international politics.

About the building

Trump International Hotel & Tower is a luxury skyscraper in Las Vegas linked to Donald Trump's business empire. Billionaire Phil Ruffin was also involved in its construction and ownership. The building opened in 2008 and has 64 floors. The tower's trademark is its gold-tinted glass façade, topped with a huge TRUMP sign.
