SCS Software co-founder Petr Šebor badly hurt in Morocco desert crash

SCS Software co-founder Petr Šebor seriously injured in Morocco crash

Petr Šebor, co-founder of one of the most successful Czech game studios, SCS Software, and a friend of President Petr Pavel, was seriously injured in a crash in the Moroccan desert. The news site Aktuálně.cz reported this, citing five independent sources familiar with the trip. President Pavel is not among the injured.

The crash happened on Tuesday, when one of the buggies the group was using to travel across the desert overturned. According to one source, Šebor has damaged vertebrae and fractures. A rescuer at the scene helped stabilize his condition. The driver of the vehicle was also injured, including fractures.

The outlet’s sources say a decision is now being made on bringing Šebor back to Czechia. A flight home could be arranged as early as the weekend. The sources add that the injured man faces surgery.

According to Vít Kolář, head of the communications department at Prague Castle, the president’s team helped provide first aid. Representatives of SCS Software declined to comment on the incident in detail, and no other information about possible further casualties is known so far.

President Pavel left the country on October 2 and, according to the Castle, is due to return to his work schedule on October 19. In Morocco he met participants of the Rallye du Maroc, then set off into the desert with friends.

Petr Šebor and his brother Pavel Šebor are behind the studio SCS Software. The company is among the most successful Czech game studios.
