Czech couple turns pill frustration into the Nozono brand

Tired of swallowing dozens of pills: a Moravian couple turned a personal problem into the Nozono brand for Europe and Dubai

Michala and František Vašíček, a couple from Moravia, spent two years developing premium food supplements under their own brand, Nozono — and it all started with everyday frustration: unable to find a quality supplement, he once poured fifteen capsules into his palm one morning and washed them down with a liter of water. Today their product is launching not just across Europe, but in the Middle East as well, including Dubai.

František Vašíček has been an entrepreneur for more than twenty years; one of his companies had a turnover in the hundreds of millions of crowns. Working himself to the bone, he constantly felt short on energy and replaced proper meals with coffee. When he decided to take his health seriously, he ran into chaos in the supplement market: dozens of jars, with no clarity on what combined with what or in which doses. His wife Michala, who struggled with sleep problems, ran into the same confusion.

Rather than simply pick an existing product, the couple decided to create their own — with clear logic and high quality. According to František, development cost several million euros, and registering the product abroad alone cost more than two million crowns, since requirements for supplements in other countries are far stricter than in Czechia, where a product can reach the market in literally a few days.

The result is not dozens of scattered preparations but six clearly defined formulas, each aimed at a specific goal: everyday alertness, energy and metabolism, sleep and nighttime recovery, memory and concentration, immunity, and cellular vitality. The formulas can be taken separately or combined without risking exceeding the recommended dose of active ingredients.

The formulations were developed not by the couple themselves but by professional teams in Europe and Dubai, while production is organized in Europe. From the start, the Vašíčeks didn't want to limit themselves to the Czech market and always planned a single, unified European brand. Their entry into Dubai was helped by a mutual acquaintance who became a company partner — former professional hockey player and physical trainer Patrik Valčák, who now lives in the UAE and is opening doors for Nozono in the Middle Eastern market.

What sets their approach apart is that most manufacturers sell products with different formulations under the same name, adapted to each country's legislation. The Vašíčeks decided to go against this practice: a customer should get the exact same formula no matter where they buy the supplement. Because of this, the formulas had to be registered simultaneously under the laws of several countries at once, each with different lists of approved substances and different ingredient-certification requirements.
