Czech billionaire and investor Igor Fait, better known to the wider public for his football club Artis Brno, continues to expand a far less visible but highly profitable part of his business empire — a bakery chain. His investment group Jet Investment has bought the Ostrava bakery Pekaři a spol., bringing it into the Náš Chléb group.
The deal was carried out through the Jet 3 fund, which acquired a 100% stake in the company. Pekaři a spol. has 101 employees and generates around 160 million crowns a year, running several shops in the Moravian-Silesian Region in addition to the bakery itself.
For the Náš Chléb group, which Jet Investment joined back in June last year, the acquisition is especially valuable geographically — the company gains its first production and distribution base in Moravia. As Jet Investment project director Marek Večeř explains, fresh baked goods from a single bakery can be delivered within roughly 150 kilometres, and the group's existing capacity in Czechia simply didn't reach as far as Ostrava.
The Ostrava bakery traces its history back to 1960, and in 2025 it opened a bistro in the Poruba district serving sourdough bread, desserts and specialty coffee. The Náš Chléb group itself grew out of a family bakery founded in 1998 in Jablonec nad Nisou, and today also includes the Náš Grunt and Sklizeno concepts.
“Over the past few years we've built a strong position in Ostrava and the surrounding area, and now we can use the resources and experience of a larger group to build on the work we've already done,” said Pekaři a spol. director Vladimír Dubják.
