Finnish metal band Nightwish has announced it is parting ways with Dutch vocalist Floor Jansen, who has sung with the group since 2012. The musicians shared the news in a statement on Facebook.
“This decision is necessary and important for us and our future ambitions. Each of us will now move towards those goals on our own path. On our creative journeys, we wish each other only the very best,” the band said.
Jansen released a statement of her own: “Endings create new beginnings, and although the decision was a difficult one, I believe a bright musical path awaits me. I invite you to continue it with me, as you have been with me through all the wonderful years.” The singer thanked fans for their support.
Jansen joined Nightwish in 2012, replacing Anette Olzon. With the band she recorded the albums Endless Forms Most Beautiful (2015), Human II Nature (2020) and Yesterwynde (2024).
Nightwish intend to carry on and want to record a new album as early as next year. The band has not revealed who the new vocalist will be. Jansen’s solo album, titled Hytress, will be released in 2027.
