The first couple to leave the Czech dance show StarDance are former tennis player Radek Štěpánek and his partner Vanda Bartošová Detinská. The decision was announced at the end of the second episode on Saturday, 17 October, and it came as a surprise to viewers.
Saying goodbye, both thanked the show for the opportunity and their families for their support. “You’re leaving as a dancer,” his partner told Štěpánek, adding that it was a pity they could not show everything they had managed to learn.
The performances were judged by a panel of four: Zdeněk Chlopčík, Tatiana Drexler, Richard Genzer and Jana Burkevičová. The evening opened with stuntwoman Hana Dvorská and Michal Kurtiš dancing a tango: Genzer joked that it was a “tango desolato”, but the tango turned out rather well. The pair scored 24 points, and Chlopčík, according to the panel, noted their progress since the first episode.
The highest score, 31, went to two couples at once: singer and actor Vojtěch Dyk with Kateřina Malek (quickstep; Drexler called Dyk a marvel for the natural quality of his movement) and actor Tomáš Šón Pšeníčka with Natálie Otáhalová, whose routine, in the panel’s view, combined humour with a storyline. Singer and actress Luciana Tomášová and Robin Ondráček scored 30 for their quickstep, while Marta Jandová and Martin Prágr earned 27 for a “sexy” tango.
The weakest performance came from singer Tomáš Polák with Adriana Mašková: they scored just 15 points for their tango. Polák himself admitted with some self-irony that he had promised his wife and children to do better than last time. Host Marek Eben reassured him, saying the show had seen worse. Tomáš Matonoha and Lenka Nora Návrková scored 21 for their jive, and actress Sára Prahárž Sandeva with Daniel Makovec scored 23. The second episode’s points are added to the results of the first.
As a reminder, only nine of the traditional ten couples entered the 14th season: even before the show began, actress Petra Nesvačilová and her partner Filip Hudlický dropped out because of a leg injury. They may appear in an exhibition dance in the tenth episode if the injury heals. The show has aired on Czech Television since 10 October 2026, with Zdeněk Chlopčík returning to the panel.
