Updated 4 November, 04:10 Prague time (10:10 p.m. ET). Democrats have now flipped two Senate seats. Pediatrician Annie Andrews defeats Republican Sen. Darline Graham in South Carolina, CBS News projects; Graham was appointed to the seat after the death of her brother, Sen. Lindsey Graham, in July. Earlier, former Gov. Roy Cooper won North Carolina. Democrats need two more pickups while holding their own seats for a majority. They lead in Texas, Ohio and Kansas, where no winner has been called yet.
Republicans went into Election Day with 53 of 100 seats. 35 seats were on the ballot, including special elections in Florida and Ohio. We update this page every hour.
Vote counts from NBC News. Until a race is called, margins can shift: states count different ballots first. "Lean D" means NBC or CBS rates the race as leaning Democratic.
