US Embassy warns of terror threat at Moscow’s Tsaritsyno park

US Embassy warns of possible terror attack at Tsaritsyno park in Moscow

The US Embassy in Moscow has warned of a credible threat of a terror attack at the Tsaritsyno museum-reserve on Saturday, Oct. 31. According to a statement on the mission’s website, the event could lead to mass casualties. The US government is coordinating its response with Russian authorities, and people are urged to avoid the park.

The address given in the statement is 1 Dolskaya Street, Moscow. Two concerts are planned at Tsaritsyno for Saturday evening and could be a target. Park management said it had received no information about a threat and that the park will operate as usual.

How the FSB responded

The FSB later said it had received information from the US through “partner channels” about preparations for a terror attack. On its response, the agency said only that “appropriate work is under way.” DW reported this.

A parallel with 2024

The situation recalls March 2024, when the United States passed Russian intelligence services information about a possible terror attack at the Crocus City Hall concert venue in Krasnogorsk. About two weeks later, Islamists killed 151 people there and wounded another 609.
