Apple unveils its first foldable iPhone Duo: prices in Czechia start at 55,000 crowns

Apple has revealed pricing for its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, on the Czech market. The device will go on sale in four storage configurations, with the top-tier model priced at over 90,000 crowns.

According to company representatives, the base model with 256 GB of storage will cost 54,990 crowns. The 512 GB version is priced at 60,990 crowns, the 1 TB model at 72,990 crowns, while the top-of-the-line 2 TB version comes in at 90,990 crowns. All versions are available in two colours — Sky White and Twilight Blue. Pre-orders open on 16 October at 14:00, with official sales beginning on 23 October.

The first foldable to bear the Apple logo

The iPhone Duo is Apple's first-ever foldable smartphone. Unfolded, it features a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR display — twice the screen area of the iPhone 18 Pro Max. On the outside, there's an additional 5.4-inch display for use while the phone is folded.

The design allows the device to be used in various positions — for example, as a compact laptop or as a stand for watching videos. Apple says the new gadget combines the best features of the iPhone and iPad, creating a hybrid between a smartphone and a tablet.

Hardware and battery life

The updated iOS 27 operating system makes better use of the large internal display, including for multitasking. The body combines a titanium frame with a reinforced hinge mechanism, and the device meets the IP68 standard for water and dust resistance.

Performance is handled by the new A20 Pro chip with an improved cooling system. On the back are two 48-megapixel camera modules — a main and an ultra-wide lens. New camera features include a live preview shown on the outer display for the person being photographed, as well as a "smart" shutter that fires automatically once everyone in a group photo is ready.

The manufacturer claims up to 31 hours of video playback using the internal display, and up to 44 hours when using the external one.
