American actress Selma Blair was detained after an incident aboard a Delta Airlines plane flying from Los Angeles to New York. According to CBS News, she attacked two flight attendants, and the crew had to restrain her.
It happened at around 11 p.m. local time. It was initially reported that the actress had tried to open the aircraft door in flight, but this was not confirmed. The pilot asked JFK airport controllers in New York to have medics waiting at the landing site. According to him, the injuries included “a broken nose and several bites”.
Assaults on staff on board fall under the FBI’s jurisdiction, and it has taken over the case but declined to comment. Whether Blair will be charged is not yet known. After her arrest, the actress was taken to hospital. A Delta Airlines spokesperson said the flight was not disrupted.
It is not the first such incident: in 2016, Blair got drunk on board and was restrained by two nurses. The actress is known for the films “Hellboy” and “Cruel Intentions”. In 2018 she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, and last year she announced remission.
