A 63-year-old tourist from Czechia has died while climbing Mount Babia Góra in the Polish Beskids. According to the mountain rescue service, the cause of death was cardiac arrest.
Rescuers received a call shortly before noon on Friday reporting that a man near the summit had fallen ill. A ground team was dispatched immediately, and a medical rescue helicopter was also sent to the scene. Despite their efforts, the tourist could not be resuscitated — rescuers handed his body over to police.
Mount Babia Góra sits on the border between Poland and Slovakia and rises to 1,725 metres above sea level.
