Trump: Russia to supply 300,000 tonnes of diesel to world markets

Trump announces deal with Russia: 300,000 tonnes of diesel for the world market

US President Donald Trump announced on Friday that Russia has agreed to immediately supply 300,000 tonnes of diesel fuel to world markets. According to him, further shipments will follow: 500,000 tonnes during November, a million tonnes right after that, and then another three million tonnes.

The agreement the United States has reached with Russia has drawn sharp criticism: it gives Moscow additional funds to wage its war against Ukraine.

Economists, meanwhile, doubt that such supplies will noticeably affect global oil prices, let alone prices for consumers. It is also unclear whether Russia will be able to deliver the promised volumes of fuel at all.
