Firefighters in the Ústí nad Labem Region were called out to an unusual job: in the village of Solopisky, part of the Domoušice municipality in the Louny district, rescuers had to pull a duck out of a cesspit.
According to the fire service, the bird had fallen deep inside and was unable to climb out on its own. The crew was dispatched purely to save the animal — the call posed no danger to people or property.
Call-outs involving trapped animals are nothing unusual for Czech firefighters, but each case requires an individual approach: rescuers must act carefully so as not to harm the animal while safely lifting it out of the pit.
