Kostelecké uzeniny grows net profit to 102 million crowns

Czech meat-processing company Kostelecké uzeniny increased its net profit to 102 million crowns last year, while the company's revenue also grew — to 7.194 billion crowns, up from 6.89 billion crowns a year earlier.

What the company does

The company's core business is livestock slaughter and the production of sausages and meat products, along with their distribution and sale. In addition to its main plant in Kostelec u Jihlavy, it operates production sites in Planá nad Lužnicí and Most.

Revenue and exports

Revenue from sales of the company's own products in the meat-processing segment totaled 6.89 billion crowns last year. Of that amount, 1.167 billion crowns came from exports.

About three-quarters of the exported goods go to Slovakia. According to the company, in 2024 Kostelecké uzeniny exported meat and sausage products worth 1.169 billion crowns, compared with 1.146 billion crowns in 2023.

Kostelecké uzeniny within Agrofert

The company is part of the Agrofert conglomerate — one of the Czech Republic's largest business groups, the leader in the country's agri-food sector and the second-largest player in the chemical industry. The conglomerate also operates in forestry and renewable energy and employs around 29,000 people, roughly 18,000 of them in Czechia.

In February, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO) placed his Agrofert shares into a trust fund to resolve a conflict-of-interest issue.
