Minibus with 13 passengers veers off D11 highway

A crash occurred this morning at the 69th kilometer of the D11 motorway, in the direction from Hradec Králové to Prague, when a Ford Transit minibus ran off the road. According to police spokeswoman Dita Holečková, the incident happened at around half past six in the morning, and the reasons why the driver lost control have not yet been established.

All 13 people on board were injured. The driver tested negative for alcohol. Traffic on the motorway has since been restored, though the road remains difficult to navigate as police continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.

Emergency response

Seven ambulance crews responded to the scene, including a medical rescue helicopter. According to medics, two of the injured suffered serious chest injuries, while the remaining eleven sustained lighter injuries. Seven of the injured were taken to the University Hospital in Hradec Králové, and another six were brought to the hospital in Pardubice.
