In the Austrian region of Tyrol, two schoolgirls lured a 12-year-old girl behind a local monastery and brutally beat her, filming the entire attack on video. The incident was reported by the Austrian outlet Heute.
According to the publication, the attackers — citizens of Bulgaria and Kosovo — lured the girl to a secluded spot, where they kicked her in the head, pulled her hair, threatened her with a knife and warned her not to call for help, threatening to kill her. The whole ordeal was recorded on a mobile phone.
The attack was only stopped thanks to a passer-by who happened to intervene. The attackers, however, managed to flee the scene, taking the victim's mobile phone with them. The 12-year-old girl suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized.
On Thursday, police detained the Bulgarian national, who confessed to the attack under the weight of the evidence against her. Her accomplice from Kosovo is still being sought.
According to available information, the brutal attack stemmed from a long-standing conflict: the victim had previously helped another girl, a fact that had angered the future attackers.
