In the municipality of Babice nad Svitavou in the Brno-Country district, firefighters tackled a blaze at a barn and the neighbouring residential house. Professional and volunteer crews from many towns and villages were sent to the scene.

Professional units from Brno’s central fire stations — Lidická, Židlochovice and Blansko — as well as the Brno-Lišeň and Pozořice stations and a unit of the Railway Administration in Brno, took part. Volunteer firefighters from Babice nad Svitavou, Kanice, Řícmanice, Bílovice nad Svitavou, Březina, Jedovnice, Ochoz u Brna, Hostěnice, Adamov, Brno-Obřany and Olomučany also helped extinguish the fire.
