Tram hits four-year-old child in central Prague

A tram struck a four-year-old child in the centre of Prague. Police were alerted to a collision between a tram and a pedestrian, and upon arriving at the scene, officers found that the injured party was a small child, said police spokeswoman Eva Kropáčová.

A rescue team was dispatched to the scene along with a doctor. The child was treated on the spot and remained conscious throughout, said Jana Poštová, spokeswoman for Prague's emergency medical service. After receiving first aid, the child was taken to one of Prague's trauma centres.

Police are now investigating the circumstances of the accident.
