Tusk: Russia is preparing drone attacks on countries supporting Ukraine, including Poland

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk told the Sejm that Russia is preparing hybrid drone attacks against countries supporting Ukraine, including Poland itself. According to him, the coming autumn and winter will mark the most critical period of the entire Russia-Ukraine war.

The statement came amid drone attacks on trains in the border area between Poland and Ukraine. Tusk cited intelligence data suggesting that Moscow is most likely to continue pursuing exactly this kind of strategy.

The Kremlin is not ready for a truce

According to the Polish prime minister, Russia currently has no intention of agreeing even to a limited truce — for example, a mutual halt to strikes on energy infrastructure. Tusk also drew attention to a new threat: Russian jet-powered drones. "This concerns not only Ukraine: right now, almost no one is prepared to effectively counter drones of this type," he noted, citing the Interia news portal.

A blow to Ukraine's economy and logistics

Tusk believes the Kremlin has effectively adopted a new war strategy, the main goal of which is now to maximally destroy Ukraine's economy and logistics. According to him, continuous high-frequency, high-intensity strikes are expected on six major Ukrainian cities, aimed at destroying warehouses, goods needed for the country's defense, and rail infrastructure.

27,000 killed and wounded in a month

The Polish prime minister stressed that Russia's new strategy and the use of jet-powered drones mean significantly greater losses for Ukraine. "Our Ukrainian partners have told me that lately 27,000 people are being killed or wounded every month. These are, unfortunately, records in the saddest sense of the word," Tusk added, noting that if this trend continues, winter in Ukraine will have catastrophic consequences.
