The Mega Millions jackpot reached $505 million for the Friday, Nov. 6 drawing, with a $203.6 million cash option, according to Treasure Coast News, which cited Mega Millions. The grand prize has rolled over 28 times since it reset in July, when an $800 million jackpot was won in Florida.
Treasure Coast News listed the Nov. 6 winning numbers as 27-34-44-53-64, with a Mega Ball of 1. The next drawing is at 11 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Nov. 10.
The prize has grown at nearly every twice-weekly drawing since the last winner. These are the key steps, based on the drawing recap published by Treasure Coast News:
Treasure Coast News said that, based on recent rollovers, the current jackpot will likely become one of the 10 highest in Mega Millions history before Thanksgiving. According to megamillions.com, the 10th-largest jackpot so far is $552 million, won in Illinois on June 4, 2024.
The largest Mega Millions jackpot won on a single ticket was $1.58 billion, in the Aug. 8, 2023, drawing. Final sales pushed that prize to $1.602 billion. The ticket was sold at a Publix in Neptune Beach, Florida.
The outlet also noted that 15 lottery jackpots across Mega Millions and Powerball have reached or passed $1 billion. Only one has gone above $2 billion: a $2.04 billion Powerball prize on Nov. 7, 2022.
A Mega Millions ticket costs $5. The price rose from $2 in April 2025, and the optional Megaplier add-on is no longer offered. Drawings are held at 11 p.m. ET on Tuesdays and Fridays, including holidays.
The odds remain long. According to the Mega Millions site, the chance of matching all five white balls and the gold Mega Ball is 1 in 290,472,336.
Winners can choose between the advertised annuity-style jackpot and the smaller cash option, which is $203.6 million for the current prize. In Florida, where the outlet focused its reporting, prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing. A winner who wants the single-payment cash option has the first 60 days after the draw date to claim it.
Florida winners cannot stay fully anonymous, according to the Florida Lottery's website. State law requires the lottery to release a winner's name, city of residence, game, date and amount to anyone who asks. Winners of prizes of $250,000 or more are temporarily exempt from public disclosure for 90 days after claiming, unless they waive that protection. Treasure Coast News added that lottery experts and lawyers say there are ways to remain anonymous.
The next Mega Millions drawing is Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 11 p.m. ET. If no ticket matches all six numbers, the jackpot will roll over again, as it has at each drawing since the July 28 win.
