Woman Driver Mounts Pavement on Prague's Čech Bridge, Hits Two Pedestrians

In Prague, a woman driver drove her car onto the pavement on Čech Bridge and hit two pedestrians. Five ambulance crews were sent to the scene.

"Three ambulance crews are working at the scene — a crew with a doctor and a crew with a specialist paramedic — with three casualties in total under medical observation," said Karel Kirs, a spokesman for Prague's emergency medical service.

According to him, one of the injured suffered severe multiple trauma: they were placed in a medically induced coma and put on a ventilator, then immediately taken to a trauma centre. Their life is in immediate danger.

Two other people suffered minor to moderate injuries. After receiving treatment at the scene, they too were taken to hospital.

Traffic on Čech Bridge has not yet been restored; passengers can use the parallel bus route No. 207, the Prague transport authority said on its website. Tram line No. 17 has been temporarily diverted.
