A boat accident has occurred off the coast of Norway, with four Czech citizens on board. According to the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, one person has died, while the fate of the remaining three is still unknown.
"So far, the search operation has recovered one body, while the search continues for the other three missing persons. Local police currently do not believe any of the missing could have survived," the ministry said.
According to the Norwegian news outlet Nettavisen, the Czechs rented the boat on Friday morning, planning to return before nightfall. However, something went wrong, and the boat wrecked off the Norwegian coast.
On Saturday evening, rescuers were forced to suspend the search for the crew due to bad weather and darkness setting in.
The search operation for the missing is being led by Norway's Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (HRS). According to information published by the center on social media platform X, a helicopter has been deployed to assist in the search.
