Chodová Planá to Host the Chodovar Beer Festival with Theatre and Rock Concerts

On Saturday, 22 August 2026, the Chodovar brewery in the town of Chodová Planá, near Tachov, invites guests to its traditional beer festival. This year's event carries the motto "SATURNin at the Brewery," with the beloved local festival character Uncle Pepin once again taking centre stage, assisted by the amateur theatre troupe Komedyjanti from Tachov.

Visitors can look forward to unconventional brewery tours that will appeal to adults and children alike, while the Old Malthouse grounds will host a summer version of curling — lawn bowls, essentially. The main concert programme will unfold in the Brewery Garden.

Who's Playing on Stage

The country band Tsunami from Velichov opens the show at 1:30 p.m. From 8:00 p.m., the stage belongs to Spejbl's Helprs and an AC/DC tribute band, before the evening closes with the Rullete Music Band — a group of seasoned musicians who, according to the organisers, will keep the dance floor going until guests run out of energy (and beer).

Tours and Tastings

From 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., special guided tours will take place featuring the Komedyjanti actors alongside Uncle Pepin in the lead role. Throughout the day, visitors can sample the brewery's signature treats: genuine beer jam made by the brewery's own maltster, yeast Chody beer straight from 800-year-old rock-hewn cellars, as well as blueberry beer and Chody kolaches at the "Old Malthouse" Beerarium. There will also be no shortage of grilled dishes and delicacies prepared by the chef of the Ve Skále restaurant.
