Cink Cruises to Victory at Czech Cup Mountain Bike Round in Ostrava While Testing New Wheels

Czech rider Ondřej Cink comfortably won the Czech Cup cross-country mountain bike round in Ostrava, clocking a time of 1:23:45. On the course, he was testing a bike fitted with larger 32-inch wheels as part of his preparation for the Mountain Bike World Championships in Val di Sole, Italy.

"It rode pretty well, but we'll see how it goes once the tracks get tougher. I haven't had this wheel for very long, so I still need time to get used to it. Next week I'll race it at the World Cup round in Les Gets, so it'll be interesting to see how that goes," the 35-year-old athlete said in a press release.

According to Cink, the Ostrava course felt more like a cyclocross track — fast, with lots of turns, which isn't really his style. Still, since he was in a break between competitions, the race was a good fit for getting some racing rhythm back and slotted nicely into his training block.

Second place among the men went to Matyáš Zatloukal, 37 seconds behind, while Ondřej Hojka finished third (+1:05). In the overall Czech Cup standings after four of five rounds, Zatloukal leads with 1,090 points, followed by Hojka (930) and Novotný (860).
