Dog Greets Burglar With a Toy — Then Welcomes the Police the Same Way

In mid-September, Dante Rowley's family from San Diego was about to fly off on vacation and was already standing at the boarding gate when they couldn't believe their eyes: live security camera footage showed a stranger climbing into their house.

The family's dog, Nash, was home alone with the intruder at the time — but instead of raising the alarm, he seemed simply delighted to have any company at all. Nash happily wagged his tail and fetched his favorite toy for the uninvited guest, clearly hoping for a game.

The family immediately called the police, who arrived on the scene quickly. The burglar was found inside the house, arrested, and led away in handcuffs. But even the officers couldn't escape Nash's friendliness — the dog was firmly convinced they, too, had come specifically to play with him.

"This is the world's worst guard dog," was how owner Dante Rowley summed up his pet's behavior.
