Jablonec Suffer First Defeat of the Season as Teplice End Five-Game Losing Streak

In matchday 6 of the Czech First League, Teplice beat Jablonec 2:0, handing the visitors their first defeat of the season. The match was played on Sunday in front of 4,208 spectators, with the hosts scoring both goals in the second half.

Jablonec arrived at the game after a demanding Thursday — the day before, the club had hosted the second leg of the Conference League's fourth qualifying round against Rangers, a tie that went all the way to penalties. Fatigue, however, was hardly visible: coach Kozel made seven changes to his starting lineup, and his side dictated the tempo from the opening minutes, even though the match remained largely chanceless for a long stretch.

Goals only came in the second half

The first shot on target arrived in the 34th minute from Lukáš Mareček, but goalkeeper Michelák saved his long-range effort. Just before the break, Alium — making his Jablonec debut following his move from Göteborg — headed wide.

The second half followed a similar pattern: in the 54th minute, Teplice goalkeeper Trmal was forced into a difficult save, tipping Al's bouncing shot over the bar for a corner. Soon after, the same player set up a clear-cut chance for Zorvan, who failed to hit the target from close range.

Jablonec had conceded just one goal in the first three rounds of the championship, and their defense once again held firm for much of this match, restricting Teplice to shots from distance — such as Fortelný's effort in the 72nd minute, which struck the crossbar area before Michelák parried it.

It wasn't until the 80th minute that Vientiesz whipped in a cross toward substitute Auta, and the Nigerian forward met it with an unusual headed finish into the far corner. It was his third goal of the season, drawing him level with the club's top scorer, Lukáš Mareček.

Eight minutes later, a swift counterattack saw Pulkrab set up Radosta, who calmly beat Michelák to seal the final score at 2:0.

A losing run finally broken

Teplice defeated Jablonec for the first time after five consecutive losses to this opponent, and claimed a home win against them for the first time in their last three meetings. Following matchday 6, Teplice sit sixth in the table with 10 points, while Jablonec remain eighth on 9 points, with a game in hand.
