Man Stabs Woman to Death on Bike Path in České Budějovice — Motive Revealed

Police in České Budějovice have charged a man of around 60 with the murder of a woman he was in a relationship with. The attack took place on Sunday afternoon on a busy bike path near the Dlouhý Bridge, close to the Jiráskův Weir.

According to Jiří Matzner, spokesperson for the South Bohemian Regional Police, the man attacked the woman with a knife. She died at the scene from the stab wounds she sustained.

On Monday evening, investigators charged the suspect with the serious crime of murder and filed a motion to have him taken into custody. Police say the motive behind the attack was a long-running conflict between the two partners — the attacker and the woman he killed.
