Man Stabs Woman to Death on Street Near Berlin, Bystanders Block His Escape With a Car

A brutal attack took place near Berlin this morning: an unknown man attacked a woman with a knife right on Leo-Hendrik-Baekeland-Straße. The incident occurred at around 6:30 am, and the woman died at the scene despite attempts to resuscitate her.

According to a police spokesperson, paramedics immediately began emergency resuscitation efforts, but they were unable to save the victim — she died of her injuries at the site of the attack.

Bystanders stopped the attacker

When the perpetrator tried to flee the scene, several passers-by chased after him. One man reportedly even used his car to block the fugitive's path, ramming into a bridge in the process.

The suspect didn't get far: police found and detained him shortly afterward. Witness testimony played a key role in the successful arrest.

Motive for the attack remains unclear

Police have not yet disclosed details of the incident. It remains unknown what motivated the attack, whether the attacker and victim knew each other, or the suspect's age and nationality.

Forensic teams are working at the scene collecting evidence, and a large area has been cordoned off. Extensive traffic restrictions have been put in place, including a temporary closure of the entrance to the A10 motorway.
