Czech tennis players Linda Nosková and Marie Bouzková have won the WTA Cincinnati title in doubles. In their first final together, they gave their opponents no chance whatsoever, thrashing the pairing of Panova/Kempen (Russia/Belgium) 6:1, 6:2.
The match was a one-sided affair from start to finish. After the first set was tied at 1:1, the Czech duo reeled off five straight games, and in the second set they immediately raced to a 4:0 lead. Even dropping a game to make it 4:2 didn't stop them from closing out the match comfortably.
This is already the second doubles title for the 21-year-old Nosková. She won her first back in June this year in Berlin, partnering Russia's Ekaterina Alexandrova.
For the 28-year-old Bouzková, this victory marks her seventh WTA doubles title and her first of the current season. The Cincinnati tournament is played on hard courts, with the women's event offering a prize fund of $7,433,076.
