ODS Leadership Candidate Kuba Unveils Ideological Manifesto: No Debt, No Ideology

Politician Jan Kuba has published an ideological memorandum for his movement, laying out the principles of a future political programme. The document stresses that the Czech Republic doesn't need new revolutions or endless ideological battles — what the country needs is a state that actually works and a politics that delivers real results.

"We don't want everything to start over from scratch every four years. We want to work together on things that make sense and last longer than a single electoral term," reads the memorandum's introduction.

Politics as service, not spectacle

The document argues that politics should be a public service, not theatre or marketing, and it shouldn't end in shouting matches. According to Kuba, politics is meant to deliver concrete decisions and changes that people genuinely feel in their lives and that move the Czech Republic forward. Politicians, he believes, should be judged not by how active they are on social media, but by whether roads, railways, new housing and other infrastructure actually get built.

EU, NATO and a strong military

The movement insists on preserving Czech membership in the European Union and NATO. The memorandum emphasises that security has never been, and still isn't, something to be taken for granted. Its authors pledge to support a modern army, a strong police force, energy security and self-sufficiency, protection of external borders, and a responsible migration policy that shouldn't be driven by ideology.

Neither the market nor the state can fix everything

The memorandum also devotes attention to citizens' freedom and responsibility. The movement states that it doesn't believe the market can solve every problem, nor does it believe the state is all-powerful. In their view, a well-functioning state can help people, set fair conditions for everyone, and simply stay out of their way.
