Pavel and Babiš Jointly Open the Crown Chamber to Display Czech Regalia

Prague Castle hosted the traditional ceremony marking the opening of the Crown Chamber above St. Wenceslas Chapel, where the Czech coronation jewels are kept. As tradition dictates, seven keyholders turned their keys simultaneously — among them President Petr Pavel and Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO).

This marked their first joint public appearance in several months, amid a noticeable chill in relations between the Castle and the government. Following the ceremony, the two politicians held talks on foreign policy matters.

The coronation jewels, including the famous Crown of St. Wenceslas, will be open to the general public starting September 19. Until then, only pre-registered school groups will be able to view the regalia.
