Prague 22 to Host Health Week with Free Consultations and Check-ups

From September 14 to 19, the Prague 22 district will host Health Week — a series of free events for residents of all ages, ranging from medical consultations and blood pressure checks to concerts and lectures. The initiative is organized by the local district administration together with the district's social and medical institutions.

Monday and Tuesday: Caring for the Older Generation

The program kicks off on Monday, September 14, with a focus on the district's elderly residents. They can look forward to massages, information on emergency services, guidance on preventing social isolation, advice on vaccination and health, and a communal singing session to lift spirits.

On Tuesday, September 15, a consultation center will open its doors, offering free advice to women, mothers, and people over 50, including mental health support. Near the care home (DPS II), a mobile shower service will be available, along with orthopedic services and free blood pressure and blood sugar checks.

Midweek: Children, Psychological Support, and Lectures

On Wednesday, September 16, the U22 theatre will host a program for children focused on health, prevention, and safety. In partnership with the RUBIKON center, there will also be a discussion on tackling prejudice. In the afternoon, a "Café for the Soul" will take place at the Betlémek house, while the museum will host a lecture by Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders).

On Thursday, September 17, anyone interested can undergo a preventive melanoma screening, as well as check their blood pressure and sugar levels. At DPS II, an intergenerational "Active Seniors" competition will take place, along with a prize draw for the "Active Senior Passport."

Finale: Workshop and Communal Singing

On Friday, September 18, professional consultations and a staff workshop will be held, and visitors can also access services from the ESET-HELP organization at the consultation center.

Health Week will wrap up on Saturday, September 19, with residents invited to join a communal singing gathering on the steps outside the DPS II building.
