Propagandist Solovyov calls for reversing German reunification and restoring East Germany

Russian propagandist Vladimir Solovyov, speaking on his show "Evening with Vladimir Solovyov" on the Russia 1 TV channel, called for denouncing the treaties on German reunification and declared that the country itself "should no longer be considered a legitimate state." This was reported by the Nexta TV channel, citing Solovyov's remarks.

The host questioned the so-called "Two Plus Four Treaty" — the agreement on the final settlement with respect to Germany, which formed the basis for the country's reunification in 1990. The document was signed by West Germany, East Germany, and the four victorious powers of World War II — the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and the USSR. According to Solovyov, Moscow should "withdraw its signature" from the agreement.

Accusations over the drone attack in Leipzig

The trigger for the angry tirade was a statement from the German side about Russia's possible involvement in a drone attack on Leipzig/Halle Airport. German investigators identified two suspects in the case: a man of Russian origin holding a Latvian passport, and a Belarus-born individual with a Russian passport who was already known to police in other European countries.

On his Telegram channel, Solovyov criticized Western politicians, including NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, for "rushing to support the theory of Russian guilt without presenting convincing evidence." He referred to the August 4 incident as "the Leipzig provocation."

"Freeze the assets and expel the diplomats"

Solovyov said that if Moscow does respond, its reaction should not be limited to "half-hearted measures." He proposed harsh diplomatic steps against Germany, including expelling German representatives from Russia.

The host also pointed out that German companies continue to operate in Russia and are earning substantial profits. In his view, their assets should be frozen and placed under the control of the Russian state. Solovyov claimed that the actions of the current German leadership demonstrate direct support for Ukraine in the conflict.

"Germany is in fact an enemy. The current German authorities are openly saying they are fighting on the side of the Ukrainian Nazis. Want to give them [German-Swedish] Taurus cruise missiles? Go ahead. Do whatever you want. We will destroy you all," Solovyov declared.

How much does the propagandist earn

Solovyov is one of the highest-paid propagandists of Russian President Vladimir Putin's regime. According to the media project Verstka, he earns 1,125,000 rubles (about 269,000 CZK) per month. Solovyov's annual income from the state-run Russia 1 TV channel amounts to 14,057,000 rubles (about 3,360,000 CZK).
