Excavator overturns in Prague’s Chodov district and blocks the road

An excavator overturned in Prague’s Chodov district on Wednesday afternoon. It happened shortly before 5 p.m. during earthworks on Chodovská street. The 60-year-old driver escaped without injury, firefighters said on social network X.

A crane has been called to the scene, and rescuers are using it to try to restore full passage on the road. The excavator is currently blocking two lanes, so traffic is building up in the direction from the city centre towards 5. května street.

“The entrance to the shopping centre is also blocked,” police spokesman Jan Rybanský said. Traffic police are on their way to direct the traffic.
