PlayStation 5 Pro price in Czechia nears 50,000 Kč, up 2.5 times

PlayStation 5 Pro in Czechia now costs nearly 50,000 crowns — 2.5 times more than a year ago

The PlayStation 5 Pro keeps getting more expensive in Czechia: the lowest offer is now around 47,000 crowns, less than 3,000 short of the 50,000 Kč mark. At the start of the year the console could be bought for 18,985 Kč, so today it costs almost 2.5 times as much.

Last month offers started at 38,990 Kč — already more than double the January price. Now the minimum has risen by another 8,025 Kč, or roughly 21%. Compared with the start of the year, buyers have to pay 28,030 Kč more.

The comparison with the previous peak is telling: back then the price soared to 47,120 Kč. The current lowest offer is just 105 Kč below that high — what recently seemed prohibitively expensive has become practically the entry ticket.

There is hardly any choice, either: according to Zboží.cz, the PlayStation 5 Pro is currently in stock at only one Czech store. There is simply nothing to compare or to hunt for a better price.

Gamers are paying more and getting the same console. The PlayStation 5 Pro is a more powerful version of the standard PS5: it offers higher graphics performance, advanced ray-traced lighting and reflections, and a two-terabyte drive.

The price rise is blamed on limited supplies from Sony, more expensive memory and a shortage of components. The AI boom is driving demand for memory and storage for data centers, and manufacturing capacity is also needed for consumer electronics — the pressure from tech giants is being felt in computers and other devices for ordinary buyers. Demand is also fuelled by the highly anticipated GTA 6: some players want a powerful console precisely for it. Grand Theft Auto VI is due out on November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
