Trump threatens to ban Canadian Bombardier from selling in the US

US President Donald Trump has said Canadian aircraft manufacturer Bombardier could lose the right to sell its products on the American market. "No more Bombardier sales in the United States! Their product is not good enough!" the head of the White House wrote.
"If they want our market, let them build here and stop treating America like a piggy bank," he added.
Dispute over aircraft certification
Back in January, Trump had already said the US was revoking certification for Bombardier's Global Express business jets. At the time, he also threatened to impose 50-percent tariffs on all aircraft made in Canada unless the Canadian regulator certified the lineup of American rival Gulfstream. That didn't happen, but a month later Canada did end up certifying several Gulfstream models.
A new round in the trade standoff
On Tuesday, Canada's retaliatory tariffs on select US imports are set to take effect, with rates of 15, 25 and 50 percent. Tensions escalated after trade agreement talks between the two countries collapsed in late August. Washington responded by imposing a 50-percent tariff on Canadian goods worth 20 billion dollars (416 billion crowns).
