In Pardubice and at selected bodies of water across the Pardubice and Hradec Králové regions, the diving school KeepDive runs trial dives for anyone curious about scuba diving — no prior experience required. The program, called "Ponor na zkoušku" (Trial Dive), is designed for people who want to safely experience what it feels like to breathe underwater and explore the underwater world for the first time.
Before the dive itself, participants are introduced to basic scuba equipment, given a rundown of simple safety rules and underwater communication signals, and briefed on how the session will unfold. Then, together with an instructor, they prepare the gear and head into the water.
Throughout the session, an instructor stays right by the participant's side, adjusting the pace to match their comfort level. No previous diving experience is needed — the program is built specifically with beginners in mind.
Dives take place not only in Pardubice itself but also at suitable spots around the region — including sand quarries and other bodies of water in the Pardubice and Hradec Králové regions.
Participants get an introduction to diving equipment, a basic safety briefing, hands-on gear preparation together with the instructor, the guided dive itself, and their first taste of breathing and moving underwater.
The activity works well for solo participants as well as couples, and can make for an unusual gift or a memorable shared experience. It's organized by KeepDive, a school offering diving courses, club dives and experience diving in Pardubice and the surrounding area.
