Ukraine Overnight Strikes Hit Military Targets in Crimea and Occupied Territories

On the night of August 16, Ukraine's defense forces struck a number of military targets in the occupied territories and inside Russia itself. The announcement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on its Telegram channel.

According to Ukrainian military officials, the strikes hit a missile unit concentration in the village of Rezervne in occupied Crimea, a railway bridge in the settlement of Svitlodolynske in Zaporizhzhia region, and a logistics and ammunition depot in Karlivka, Donetsk region.

Strike on a "Bastion" Missile System

Ukraine's Navy, as reported by the Unian news agency, said that overnight Sunday Ukrainian forces also hit a "Bastion" coastal missile system in occupied Crimea. Russia has used this system to launch "Onyx" and "Zircon" missiles.

Ukrainian units also operated successfully on Russian territory itself. According to the Astra Telegram channel, the largest warehouse of the online retailer Wildberries near Moscow was hit and engulfed in flames.

A Record Drone Attack

Moscow said on Sunday that Russian air defenses shot down 822 Ukrainian drones overnight over Russian regions, occupied Crimea, and the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea. According to the TASS news agency, this marks the largest drone attack of 2026 so far.
