Vobornikova Shoots Clean to Win Biathlon Show Race in Dresden

26-year-old Czech biathlete Markéta Vobrníková claimed victory at the city exhibition race in Dresden, competing there for the first time. She shot without a single miss across all four shooting bouts and never had to take a penalty loop.

Second place went to Justýna Handlerová, who missed four targets. Rounding out the podium was Italy's Lisa Vittozzi, who missed five times and finished 17 seconds behind the winner. With this result, Vobrníková became the first Czech woman in history to win the Dresden exhibition race.

In the men's event, Czech biathlete Jakub Hornig was in fifth place heading into the final lap, but was overtaken at the finish by Germany's Philipp Nawrath and Sweden's Martin Ponsiluoma. The race was won by Strelow, with the 27-year-old Czech finishing 27.9 seconds behind him.
