The coming days bring Prague a packed lineup — from lectures and exhibitions to whole-district festivals. Here are the top events from September 9 to 12 worth marking in your calendar.
Wednesday and Thursday: from toy cars to a Health Day
On Wednesday, September 9, Veleslavín Chateau (Prague 6) hosts "Car Games" from 4:00 to 5:30 PM — kids can build tracks for Hot Wheels cars, with a recommended entry donation of 130 CZK. At the Hamr sports centre in Zábehlice (Prague 10), a "Bat Night" runs from 5:00 to 9:00 PM with a lecture, a children's workshop, a nature trail and a walk to the Alcatraz area with an ultrasonic bat detector — free admission. Meanwhile, Gröbe Villa (Prague 10) opens the autumn leg of its "Tóna Vinohrad" chamber music series at 6:00 PM, with the Beautiful Strings ensemble performing works by Dvořák and Marcello; tickets cost 90–150 CZK.
On Thursday, September 10, Brumlovka Square (Prague 4) hosts a free "Health Day" from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, where visitors can check their blood pressure, subcutaneous and visceral fat levels, muscle mass and BMI, and take a lifestyle questionnaire. The same day sees the nationwide premiere of the tragicomedy "The Healing Effects of Self-Deception," directed by Adolf Zika and starring Martin Stránský, Ondřej Sokol and Jitka Čvancarová.
Weekend: a wine harvest festival and Prague South celebrations
On Friday, September 11, Švanda Theatre in Smíchov presents "The Nirvana Rule" at 7:00 PM — a stage production combined with a concert dedicated to the grunge movement (tickets from 390 CZK).
On Friday and Saturday, Jiřího z Poděbrad Square (Prague 3) hosts the anniversary, 30th Vinohrady Wine Harvest Festival — a family-friendly celebration of wine, music and entertainment, free to attend (Friday 12:00 PM–9:00 PM, Saturday 10:00 AM–9:00 PM). At the same time, the park by Chodovec Fortress (Prague 11) hosts "Prague 11 Days" from 2:00 to 10:00 PM — the district's biggest cultural festival, featuring performances by Monkey Business, Buty and other acts, also free of charge.
Long-running exhibitions and a family run
The Harry Potter: The Exhibition show continues at PVA Expo in Letňany until March 21, with tickets from 450 CZK. The New Building of the National Museum is displaying around 800 of the best photojournalism entries from the Czech Press Photo 2025 competition until November 30 (from 100 CZK). Prague Castle offers a free exhibition throughout 2026 showcasing gifts given to President Petr Pavel by foreign guests and citizens. At the Arkády Pankrác shopping centre, "World of Jellyfish" features 38 tanks and more than 30 jellyfish species (from 170 CZK), while Vodičkova Street is home to the Museum of Fantastic Illusions (from 179 CZK).
The weekend's headline event for sporty families is the ČEZ Family Run Aquapalace 2026, the seventh edition of this charity run, taking place on Saturday, September 12. The start is at Central Park near Opatov metro station, with a starting window from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM in hourly slots based on your purchased ticket time. The 6.9 km route leads to the Aquapalace Prague sports and relaxation complex in Čestlice, with the finish line open until 7:00 PM. Everyone who completes the course receives a full-day ticket to Vodní svět Aquapalace Prague, valid until October 16, 2026. Registration is online only, in advance — there will be no on-site ticket sales.
