US warns Arab states to prepare for a new strike on Iran

The United States has warned Arab countries to prepare for a new strike on Iran, MSNOW reported, citing three senior Arab officials. According to them, the strike is expected to be “short but intense.”

Arab states are trying to ease tensions, but one official admitted he “would not be surprised” if some Gulf countries objected to the use of American bases on their territory for an attack on Iran. That is exactly the reaction Washington fears.

The White House declined to comment: “We will not speak about such sensitive military plans, which may or may not exist.” President Donald Trump, in his words, “is keeping all options open so that Iran never gets a nuclear weapon.”

On Friday Trump again said the war with Iran would “end very soon”: “We’re going to give them a good beating.” In a radio interview he added that “we will have a nuclear-free Iran.”

The US and Israel attacked Iran in February this year, citing Iran’s nuclear program, which Israel believes threatens regional security. In early September the US stopped its strikes: Trump then promised to refrain from attacks until the elections.
