Chelsea lose to Brentford for the first time in 88 years in London derby

The London derby between Brentford and Chelsea ended in a 3-0 rout of the visitors. According to Premier League statistics, this was Brentford's first win over Chelsea in 88 years.

The hosts broke the deadlock in the second half. In the 61st minute, an unmarked Jayden Anthony headed home from a corner. Igor Thiago struck in the 83rd minute after a swift counterattack, and Fábio Carvalho sealed the result in stoppage time, finishing off a rebound from close range.

The win snapped a run of three straight draws for Brentford, who now have 9 points after five rounds and sit third in the table. Chelsea, meanwhile, are in a slump — they've taken just one point from their last three matches — and now sit seventh with 7 points after five games.

Arsenal and Manchester City lead the league, both on 12 points with a perfect record after four rounds. Tottenham, on the other hand, are off to a tough start this season, with just 2 points and no goals scored in four matches.
