Czech League: Liberec Held Scoreless in Brno, Baník Rescue Draw Against Slovácko

In matchday 9 of the Czech football league, Mladá Boleslav beat Zbrojovka Brno 2:0, picking up their fourth home win of the season. The league's top scorer, Martin Šubrt, opened the scoring in the seventh minute, and Jiří Klíma sealed the result in the second half. Visiting forward Daniel Vašulín failed to convert a first-half penalty.

The Central Bohemian side have now beaten Zbrojovka at home in eleven consecutive meetings. Ahead of the upcoming international break, the club could have moved even higher up the table, but Mladá Boleslav still have a postponed fixture against Bohemians 1905 to play. Brno's newly promoted side, meanwhile, failed to pick up points on the road for the second match running.

Liberec Stumble in Brno

Artis Brno and Slovan Liberec played out a goalless draw — the visitors failed to convert their dominance on the pitch into points and left empty-handed.

Pardubice beat Bohemians 1905 2:1 at home. Home player David Krčík struck as early as the second minute, before Roman Květ equalized before the break. Former Bohemians forward Václav Drchal scored the winner shortly after the restart. The hosts finished the match a man down after Mouhamed Traoré was sent off.

Baník Rescued in the 87th Minute

Slovácko and Ostrava drew 2:2, leaving the side from Uherské Hradiště still searching for their first top-flight win of the season. The visitors, fielded against their former club by coach Roman Skuhravý, went ahead through Michal Fridrich's 25th-minute penalty. Early in the second half, the hosts turned the game around within three minutes thanks to goals from Jiljí Ndefe and Patrik Blahút. Substitute Filip Šancl spared Baník from defeat late on.

After nine rounds, the battle for the top of the Czech league table in the 2026/2027 season remains tight, while teams in the lower half are increasingly fighting for points ahead of the international break.
