Motorcyclist dies while overtaking line of cars near Znojmo

The accident took place on road I/38 heading from Hatě towards Znojmo at around half past one in the afternoon. According to police spokeswoman Andrea Cejnková, a car and a motorcycle collided, leaving the motorcyclist with injuries incompatible with life.

According to preliminary information from the scene, a 60-year-old foreign motorcyclist was overtaking a line of cars stuck in traffic at considerable speed. One of the cars began turning left, and the motorcyclist had no time to react.

"One person died before we even arrived — unfortunately, there was nothing we could do to help him, as his injuries were incompatible with life. We then attended to another man, who, after examination and the necessary advice, was left at the scene," said Michaela Botová, a spokesperson for the emergency medical service.
