New Playground and Sports Area Opens in Mirčetín near Skuteč

A new outdoor recreation area has opened in the village of Mirčetín near Skuteč, right by the walls of the "Tábor Barrandov" camp. It's designed not only for local residents but also for tourists, cyclists and participants in the educational and leisure programmes held at the camp, which spreads across three hectares in the picturesque valley of the Krounka stream.

The new area features a ship-shaped rope maze for children up to 14 years old, along with a workout complex for teenagers and young people over 140 centimetres tall. The space is rounded out with mobile outdoor equipment, including table tennis tables, a foosball table and a Russian skittles set. Beneath the climbing equipment, a safety surface covering 100 square metres has been installed to cushion falls.

A convenient spot for tourists

The playground sits right along the main red hiking trail of the Czech Tourist Club and cycling route No. 2 in the Toulovcovy Maštale micro-region. Thanks to this location, it's used not just by children and teenagers from the surrounding villages, but also by tourists, cyclists and guests of the "Tábor Barrandov" camp who come for educational and wellness stays.

The project was carried out with support from the ČEZ Foundation, which contributed 120,000 crowns towards its construction.
