Prague to Open 700-Square-Meter Dental Co-Working Space with 11 Treatment Rooms

In Prague's Nová Waltrovka district, between Jinonice and Radlice, an unusual dental clinic called Metalika is preparing to open — built on a co-working principle. Spanning 700 square meters, it will bring together all the main branches of dentistry under one roof, from surgery and periodontics to orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry and dental hygiene.

While office co-working spaces for programmers and other professionals have long been common in Czechia, this kind of format for dentists is a genuine novelty. The clinic will feature 11 separate treatment rooms, where dentists will operate under their own registration and legally act as independent healthcare service providers.

Shared Reception and X-Ray for Everyone

According to one of the clinic's co-founders, orthodontist Klára Šafránková, the service agreement with each patient will always be signed with a specific doctor or their company. At the same time, all specialists will share common infrastructure — the reception area, waiting rooms, an X-ray room, laboratories and training spaces.

The clinic's second co-founder, Patrik Paulíška, adds that in complex cases requiring input from several specialists, treatment will be coordinated through joint consultations and shared therapy plans, with each doctor responsible for their own part of the work.

An Interior Like a Living Room, Not an Office

The clinic will be located in the Metalica administrative building — part of developer Penta Real Estate's "Nová Waltrovka" project in Prague 5, where the space has been leased. The interior design was created by studio mar.s architect, and the architects' main goal was to reduce patient stress even before they sit in the chair.

According to architect Martin Schönberger, the aim is to create a space that feels more like a living room or café than a medical facility, since it's precisely the clinical atmosphere that often makes people tense and uncomfortable. The clinic's reception will resemble a hotel lobby rather than a typical registration desk. "We didn't just want a beautiful interior — we wanted an environment that changes the patient's first impression the moment they walk in," the architect notes.

Twenty Staff Members at Launch

Right after opening, Metalika will employ around 20 people, with the team of specialists set to grow over time. Shared facilities will include changing rooms, a kitchen, restrooms and a storage area. The equipment layout in each treatment room was worked out individually with the doctors, taking into account their working habits and preferences for the placement of the dental chair, desk and sink.

Metalika's opening is scheduled for January 2027. The total investment in building and equipping the clinic is estimated at the low tens of millions of crowns.

Large dental chains and centers already operate on the Czech market — including TopDent and DENT MEDICO — while Prague is home to clinics such as Dynasty Stomatology, Prague Dental House, Dental Office H33, dSmile and Asklepion. However, a shared co-working format for independent dentists is appearing on the Czech market for the very first time.
