Russian Military Helicopter Breaches Polish Airspace for 42 Seconds

On Wednesday at 11:08, a Russian military helicopter briefly entered Polish airspace north of the town of Braniewo, according to the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces. The helicopter, which had flown in from the Kaliningrad region, penetrated up to roughly 300 metres into Polish territory and remained there for 42 seconds.

The incursion was detected by Polish military radar systems. Fighter jets were scrambled in response to the airspace violation.

Testing Combat Readiness

"The nature of the incident suggests that Russia is once again testing the readiness of our air defences," the Polish military said. According to the command, Poland's air defence units are continuously monitoring the situation and remain on constant alert to ensure the security of the country's airspace.
