Russian strike in Fastiv district near Kyiv kills mother and her two young children

In the Fastiv district of Kyiv region, an enemy strike killed a mother and her two young children — a girl and a boy. The news was reported late Saturday evening on Telegram by Tymur Tkachenko, head of the district's military administration.

According to Reuters, citing rescuers, the children who died were both three years old. On Sunday morning, Tkachenko added that a Russian drone had also struck the Vyshhorod district north of Kyiv, where a child was severely wounded in the attack and later died in hospital.

Strikes on Kherson region and Kramatorsk

According to Ukrinform, a Russian drone struck a monastery in Kherson region on Saturday, killing a 71-year-old clergyman and wounding four others. Ukrainska Pravda reported that a separate strike on the Kherson hromada (an administrative unit combining the city and surrounding villages) injured three people. Ukrinform later reported that a woman born in 1965 was killed in a Russian shelling of Kramatorsk.

Massive drone attacks from both sides

According to Ukraine's air force, Russia launched 138 drones at Ukraine overnight, of which 101 were shot down by air defenses or diverted using electronic warfare. Drones struck 17 populated areas, while debris from downed drones fell in five other locations.

Ukraine also carried out air strikes on Russia overnight into Sunday. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that since Saturday, Ukraine had launched more than 1,600 drones at Russian territory, around 450 of which were aimed at the capital. Russia's Defense Ministry, for its part, reported destroying 1,100 Ukrainian drones over the Moscow, Samara, Bryansk, Kursk, Belgorod and Rostov regions, Krasnodar Krai, annexed Crimea, and the Black Sea.
