Soukup Undergoes Two Hand Surgeries After Baseball Bat Attack

Businessman and former TV executive Jaroslav Soukup remains in hospital following a brutal attack last Wednesday in the village of Strančice, in the Prague-East district. According to police, he was attacked by two assailants wielding a baseball bat, reportedly wearing masks — their identities have yet to be established.

Immediately after the incident, paramedics rushed Soukup to Thomayer Hospital. According to the latest reports, doctors have already operated on his left arm twice.

Doctors Applied External Fixation

Medical staff performed what is known as external fixation — a surgical method used to treat fractures, in which an external frame is attached to the bone via metal pins inserted through the skin and muscle, held together by a rigid structure outside the body.

Soukup Believes the Attack Was No Coincidence

The businessman himself is convinced the attack was not random. Through a friend, he told the media that the entire incident is aimed at separating him from his daughter, whom he raises together with influencer Agáta Hanychová.

"Jaroslav firmly rejects the theory that this was about settling debts. He is convinced this was a targeted attack against him stemming from personal relationships," said a close associate of the businessman.

Soukup's former partner Hanychová, through her lawyer Štěpán Ciprin, has indicated that out of concern for their daughter's safety, she is considering requesting a change in custody arrangements.

"Whether the change will be permanent depends on the outcome of the police investigation," the lawyer added. The question of granting the mother sole custody of the child may also come up — something Soukup himself does not want.
